As chair of student activities committee at IEEE VTS’16, I would like to invite you to encourage your M.S. or early Ph.D. students to participate our student activities program at VTS’16 specifically designed for them.
The idea of this program is to bring 10-12 U.S. based students (M.S./early-Ph.D.) who would otherwise not come to VTS’16 (i.e. non-speakers) and having a series of talks organized for them by industry/academia/government folks on what a career in test might look like. Students can also present posters if they are already active in the community.
Please note that this program is contingent upon receiving financial support by NSF and, for invited students, we will cover their hotel expense (rooms to be shared by 2 students), registration fee, and part of their airfare as the budget allows.
If you have M.S. or early Ph.D. students interested in this program, please encourage them to participate. Participation will be done by sending a resume and a statement of interest to: khuang@mail.sdsu.edu. Applicants’ advisor should also send an email to khuang@mail.sdsu.edu stating that they will support the rest of the student’s expenses if any. Minorities and under-represented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
Deadline for application is April 3, 2016 midnight PST. Selected students will be invited to participate in the student activities program with the aforementioned financial support.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your support in test community.
Best regards,
Ke Huang, Ph.D.
