Paper Formatting
All papers must be in the IEEE proceedings two-column format for US LETTER size (8.5″ x 11″). You can find the templates provided by IEEE by following this link (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html). Do NOT include page numbers in your paper and do NOT include copyright header/footer information.
Copyright clearance
Before you prepare your final pdf document, it is required that all papers submitted to IEEE publications include a copyright clearance code at the bottom of the first page of each paper. The correct notice to use depends on the country of residence of the authors, and is as follows:
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright
- For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is: 979-8-3503-6378-4/24/$31.00 ©2024 Crown
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is: 979-8-3503-6378-4/24/$31.00 ©2024 European Union
- For all other papers, the copyright notice is: 979-8-3503-6378-4/24/$31.00 ©2024 IEEE
For LaTeX users, note that the \IEEEpubid tag is deactivated by default in the IEEE-conf.tex file when it is of type conference. This can be overwritten to allow you to add the copyright clearance code by adding the following commands just after the \begin{document} line:
\IEEEoverridecommandlockouts
\IEEEpubid{\makebox[\columnwidth]{ 979-8-3503-6378-4/24\$31.00 \copyright2024 IEEE \hfill} \hspace{\columnsep}\makebox[\columnwidth]{ }}
The example above is for the fourth category of papers above, i.e. all other papers, which applies to most authors. If you experience problems with the above LaTex instructions when using bibtex, and if you are using \usepackage{fixltx2e}, then please remove the \usepackage{fixltx2e}.
Paper Length:
- SCIENTIFIC PAPERS: up to 6 pages (the references do not count towards the page limit).
- SPECIAL SESSIONS: up to 10 pages combined or 4 pages individually (the references do not count towards the page limit).
- INNOVATIVE PRACTICES TRACKS: 1 page abstract.
The deadline for camera ready upload is Feb. 21, 2024.
Special Session label:
Authors of Special Session papers are required to add the label
(Special Session)
with 10pt font in the top right corner of the first page of their camera ready papers. LaTeX users using the IEEEtran conference document class can do so by adding the following commands just before the \begin{document} line:
\usepackage[absolute]{textpos}
\begin{textblock}{5}(11.8,0.8)
(Special Session)
\end{textblock}
PDF Check and Upload
Papers must be both checked for pdf compatibility and uploaded via the new IEEE PDF eXpress tools accessible here (https://ieee-pdf-express.org). The PDF eXpress site can be accessed through the following link
and use 60656X as conference id. You may need to create a new account to successfully log in. Once the paper has been checked/converted (you will be notified by an email), please click on the “Approve” link
Be careful: without clicking the “Approve” link, the Publication Chair will not receive your PDF file.
If you are having problems using PDF Express, please contact the Publication Chair
Copyright Form
Each author will receive an email with a link to the online Copyright Form wizard, as well as a unique login name and password to access their own copyright forms. When an author completes the online copyright transfer process and submits the form, he/she will receive an automated confirmation email letting him/her know that the transfer has been completed successfully.
